1. There I sat in a busy diner eating my food, browsing through my phone.

I lifted my head and looked around me. I looked back down. I was all alone.

2. Well, I remember when times were brighter. I remember when life was good.
I remember waking up beside her every morning, just the way I should.
Then one evening at this big reception I grew aware of her deception.
She took a ride with her latest flame.
 
3. I soon discovered, this was not the first time. It had happened many times before.
And I found out this was public knowledge. How come I was the last to know?
The so called book club was just a cover to give her time to see another lover.
